Why are there user IDs?

The reason why there are different user IDs is actually relatively simple. If a person's account data is saved, this data should of course be retained even if the person changes their user name. This is where the IDs come into play: when the account is created, the account is assigned a unique ID that can never be changed again.
In addition to the unique assignment of such IDs, there is of course also the advantage that they make it easier to distinguish individual accounts than just the user name. This means that there can be no confusion, misinterpretation or problems due to name changes.

Meaning & function of the individual IDs

  • # Discord UID: The Discord UserID is a unique number that is assigned to each Discord account in order to be able to identify it even after a change of user name (e.g. “703567685094735952”).
Purpose of use: The Discord UID is used on Skydinse to store statistics and account information of your Discord account. It is also required to link your Discord account with your Minecraft accounts.

  • # UUID: The abbreviation UUID stands for “Unique User ID”, which is a unique ID that is assigned to an account.
Every account in the Minecraft Java edition is assigned such a UUID when it is created, and this can never be changed again.
On Skydinse, each player from the Minecraft Bedrock edition is also assigned a UUID, although this does not actually exist in this form in the Bedrock edition, as our systems were developed for a Minecraft Java network and compatibility problems could otherwise arise. The UUID of an account from the Minecraft Java edition could look like this: “daf3d0d4-4b92-401a-b378-bcafa272638e” and a UUID generated for an account from the Bedrock edition could look like this: “00000000-0000-0000-0009-01fa1b9f5b50”.
Purpose of use: The UUID is used to store data from Minecraft accounts (e.g. for your statistics, your profile, your game data, ...) and to distinguish individual accounts from each other.

  • # XUID: XUID stands for “Xbox User ID”. As the name suggests, this is a unique ID that is assigned to every Xbox account. This can be used to distinguish between Xbox accounts or accounts in corresponding games (e.g. in the Minecraft Bedrock edition).
There are also two different forms of XUIDs: DEZ (decimal, numbers only) and HEX (hexadecimal, numbers and letters). However, only the HEX form is relevant for Skydinse. An XUID in HEX form can look like this, for example: “000901FA1B9F5B50”.
Purpose of use: On Skydinse, your Xbox User ID, as well as the UUID of the Minecraft Java Edition, is used to store the data of your account in the Minecraft Bedrock Edition. For this purpose, your XUID is usually converted into a “fake UUID” so that the systems on our network, which is based on the Minecraft Java edition, can work with the ID. For example, the UUID “00000000-0000-0000-0000-0009-01fa1b9f5b50” is generated from the XUID (HEX) “000901FA1B9F5B50”.

  • # Discord Connection ID: The Connection ID (DCID) on Skydinse is a unique ID that is generated by our systems when connecting Minecraft and Discord accounts. For example, a Discord Connection ID can look like this: “82c160f8e580dc25a71f18a8f4b22771”.
Purpose of use: This ID is used to distinguish between different account connections as easily as possible and to be able to access the connection data of a single account connection as efficiently as possible.

What is an IP address?

An IP address is an address that is assigned to each device (e.g. server or router) in a computer network. This address is used for communication between different devices. There are two common types of IP addresses: IPv4 (e.g. “127.0.0.1”) and IPv6 (e.g. “2606:4700:4700::6400”).

What do we use your IP address for?

Skydinse uses your IP address to manage the communication between our servers and your devices.
The IP address is also used to retrieve some data. For example, we read your location data to show you the time corresponding to your time zone.
Your IP address is also used to identify whether or not you are registered with multiple Minecraft accounts on our Minecraft network.
Your IP address will be deleted from our databases after some time.
